Custom Pattern Making Course - The Basics

A complete pattern-making course to learn how to create the four most important basic patterns: skirt, bodice without darts, bodice with darts and sleeve, and trousers. For both women and men. These basic patterns will then allow you to develop any custom-made garment.

You’ll always work with your own measurements and receive personalized feedback to achieve an accurate, professional pattern block.

Throughout the course, you’ll draft your patterns, make prototypes, and adjust each piece until you achieve a perfect pattern block, ready to be transformed into any design.

An ideal course for anyone who wants to learn pattern making from scratch and build a solid technical foundation for designing and sewing custom-made garments.

The program is divided into four modules covering all the fundamentals of custom pattern making:

Basic skirt • Basic bodice without darts • Basic bodice with darts and sleeve • Basic trousers. The end result: your fitted basic patterns, ready to use and adapt.

11 sessions of 2 hours each (22 hours in total).

Materials
We provide notes, rulers, set squares, and essential pattern-making tools.
Students must bring pattern paper and muslin for the prototypes.
